POP Jazzed it up at THE BLOCK off biltmore

THEBLOCK_VECTOR_DECOn Tuesday, July 19, the POP Project served as the “justice” during Jazz-N-Justice Night at THE BLOCK off biltmore in downtown Asheville. The venue donated 10% of all sales for the evening to our cause. The music was incredible, the staff were so kind, and the drinks and snacks were noteworthy, too.

We enjoyed visiting with the book and jazz lovers who were able to come by over the course of the evening. Thanks to their purchases, THE BLOCK donated $40 to POP. This may not sound like much, but remember that every dollar donated to the POP Project translates to $10+ free books redistributed back into the community. That means that because of one evening of merriment, POP will be able to deliver more than $400 of free books to men, women, and children in our community by the end of the year.

Thanks to THE BLOCK off biltmore!

POP sends big thanks to THE BLOCK off biltmore for organizing such a fun evening to our benefit. In addition to great service, we truly appreciated seeing their community mindedness in action. We encourage all of POP’s supporters to check out their venue, especially for jazz nights on Tuesdays. It’s true that this is a place where people build community.

More Help is Needed

The work of a nonprofit is never done. Please continue your support of POP through these means:

GIVE ONLINE: The POP Project is still looking for monthly donors to help us reach our 2016 budget of $3,000. We’re now 70% of the way there! Please see our donation page for details about making a one-time donation or becoming a regular monthly sponsor.

SUGGEST DELIVERY LOCATIONS: Books available during the Rethink Ink Book Sale Fundraiser were many that we had in surplus, as well as those which were not ideal donations for our current list of partnering organizations. The POP Project has a wide-ranging additional supply of books to give. If you know of any organizations in town that would benefit from having more books on hand, let us know today!
