2017 Give!Local and Additional End-of-Year Fundraising Results

Wow! The POP Project is excited to help more people enjoy a book-filled 2018, thanks to the generosity of our donors!

Give!Local Fundraising Results

The Give!Local online fundraising program is an annual Mountain Xpress initiative that enables locals to help area nonprofits through micro-donations. POP was one of 2017’s 37 participating nonprofits, and will be receiving 100% of donations made to us through the site, free of any participation or credit card processing fees. And we are SO thrilled by the donations you made:

Thanks to local donors, POP raised $1,700 during the 2017 Give!Local campaign!

Compare that to $1,143 during the inaugural 2015 season and a final total of $705 last year!

2017 Give!Local and Additional End-of-Year Fundraising Results

Additional Fundraising Results for 2017

Give!Local was our main focus during the 2017 end-of-year fundraising season. However, it is never the only avenue by which donors like to give. An additional $140 was given by two generous donors through our other digital and offline channels.

In total, POP received $1,840 from November 1–December 31. That was 23% more than our holiday fundraising goal of $1,500!

Where the Money Goes

POP’s total 2018 budget is set at $3,000. Our goal was to start the year with half that in the bank. We are so thrilled not only to meet that goal, but to have a head start in our additional fundraising efforts for the year.

The POP Project will allocate these funds so that our volunteer staff can focus on our mission and our passion: to provide more men, women, and children in our community with free access to books. Every dollar in POP’s budget translates to roughly $10 in books delivered to schools and head start programs, nonprofit agencies, veterans’ facilities, food pantries, public Little Free Libraries, and detention centers in Asheville and surrounding areas.

Here’s to a community-driven 2018. Cheers!
