No tricks—just treats! You can support the POP Project’s mission to improve access to books within our community by shopping for yourself online. Buy books for yourself, a new reading lamp, a scarf featuring quotes from your favorite authors—or really, anything in the world. When you do, just be sure to shop Amazon Smile. Host a Facebook Fundraiser
If you like to gear up for your birthday a couple weeks in advance, you should consider hosting a Facebook birthday fundraiser. Encourage your friends to give back instead of regifting the birthday gifts they haven’t opened yet. Even humble donations can add up and help us keep the lights on. Remember: Every dollar donated to POP translates to $10+ in free books delivered for free into the community.
Donate Your “Gifts”
Did you just Konmari your home? Does your mother in law have terrible taste? Are you just trying to be more conscious of what you bring into your house? Instead of asking for gifts this year, host a book drive instead. The POP Project is always in need of books ready to find new homes, especially children’s books, Spanish-language books, and any books about diversity or with diverse characters. Plus, POP is happy to pick those books up from you (within Asheville city limits) once your book drive is done!
Give a Few Hours of Your Time
As a 100% volunteer-led organization, the POP Project is always in need of great volunteers. Help support POP by giving a few hours of your time on or around your birthday. We also need a few enthusiastic, long-term volunteers to organize our book donations and keep the process of distributing them flowing smoothly. Sort, count, and deliver books that match those needs. Part-time and extremely flexible.
