Congrats to Jim, POP Project’s Executive Director!

Jim

The POP Project wants to extend our congratulations to Jim MacKenzie, our executive director!

Jim was recently nominated to receive one of the inaugural “40 Under Forty” awards from the Biltmore Beacon and Mountaineer Publishing Company. The awards recognize 40 people in the Asheville community for their business success and community achievements. Jim was chosen in part because of his work with the POP Project.

This Thursday, May 10, Jim and his peers will be honored at a black tie banquet at the Grove Park Inn. The keynote speech at the event will be presented by Oscar Wong, founder and owner of Highland Brewing, and 2012’s North Carolina Small Business Person of the Year.

40 Under 40 awards have been presented by the American City Business Journal since 1992. This is the first year Asheville has chosen to recognize the young leaders in our community with their version of this award. For more information about the Asheville awards, click here.

We’re proud of the work Jim has done to create and develop the POP Project. Congratulations, Jim!
