The POP Project is getting a helping hand for our children’s book giving program from international book publisher, Usborne Books & More. But first, we need your help.
Local Usborne Books & More representative Andi Locke Mears is partnering with POP to lead an active online fundraiser for $1,000. Andi is an educational consultant for the publishing company, as well as an avid promoter of children’s literacy. Though Usborne’s “Literacy for a Lifetime” grant-matching program, any educational institution, community program, school, or library that receives donations or grant funding is able to maximize their donations up to 150%.
That means if we can raise the money in time, Usborne will match the amount by an extra 50% and return us $1,500 in children’s books. These books will then be distributed by POP for free to children in low-income Buncombe County communities.
The POP Project distributes free books in Buncombe County and across Western North Carolina, including to schools, low-income communities, food pantries, and children’s programs. Funds raised through YouCaring.com will be used to supplement POP’s existing book inventory, as well as to offer specialized book topics that have been requested by certain locations.
Please Donate Today
A secure online donation page is available on YouCaring.com at youcaring.com/POPProject. We ask you to give a few dollars if you can, give $50 if you’re feeling generous, and spread the word about this need. The fundraiser will run until November 3, 2015.
