Troubles in Paradise

2011 was a wonderful year for the POP Project!

We established many new connections within the Asheville community and expanded our reach to federal prisons in Tennessee and Virginia. For Day of Caring (September 1) alone, our volunteers from Home Trust Bank helped us sort, pack, and deliver over $4,000 worth of books.

Our donors were also exceedingly generous in 2011. We got boxes of books by the dozen from a number of private donors. The ABCCM passed on many books for our other collaborating agencies. Mountain Java on Merrimon Avenue in north Asheville was kind enough to house a donation drop box for almost the whole year! (We only asked for a 6-week commitment and we sincerely appreciate their patience and support.)

And so it is that we begin 2012 – with an overabundance of books. We are already lining up some donation drops, but we need your help too.

We have more books to give!

If you know of any organizations in WNC that would benefit from a book donation or the installation of a lending library (complete with shelf and books), please contact us today!

We have a problem. We have too many books!

But, oh, what a problem to have!
