“Rethink Ink” Book Sale Fundraiser is Set for February 7

The POP Project is committed to expanding our reach and services in 2014. In order to do so, we will be holding a book sale fundraiser to raise money for our administrative expenses.

We hope you will join us for the “Rethink Ink” Book Sale Fundraiser on Friday, February 7, 2014, at the Biltmore Lake Clubhouse from 1:00 until 4:00 pm. All proceeds from the “Rethink Ink” Book Sale Fundraiser will go directly to supporting our infrastructure and capacity to donate books across new areas of Western North Carolina and beyond.

“For many of us, paper and ink books never went out of style,” says POP Project Executive Director Jim MacKenzie. “E-readers are all the rage. They’re convenient and can hold hundreds of books. But we still believe in good old paper and ink books; the ones that sit on your shelf or coffee table and you can loan to your friends.”

POP accepts almost all kinds of books, and so we have collected many more than we can currently find homes for. Our “Rethink Ink” fundraiser encourages people to keep paper books alive during the digital revolution, while also serving as our largest fundraiser of the year.

We invite you to visit the “Rethink Ink” event, browse the many selections, and help a local nonprofit by taking home a few books. All genres and reading levels will be available, from children’s books and early readers to adult fiction, nonfiction, history, and travel books. Books will be available for $1 and up.

Already have a stack of books? Come by, say hello, and learn about our mission and how you can make a difference through the POP Project. Additional donations will also be welcome at the event.

Can’t make it on the 7th? POP is a local, volunteer-led nonprofit. We are always accepting donations and items in kind. Click on the donate button in the sidebar or contact us today to make a contribution.

The Biltmore Lake Clubhouse is located at 80 Lake Drive in Candler. Visit our Facebook event page for details and directions.
