Did you know that 61% of low-income families have NO books at all in their homes for their children?
Help make a difference! Donate your outgrown children’s books to the Read-cycle! program organized by Hands On Asheville Buncombe. The POP Project will put the books in the hands of children who need them most.
POP is always in search of children’s books. They are consistently one of our greatest needs and among our lowest in donations. Help us make a difference in the lives of children in Buncombe and surrounding counties. Participate in the Read-cycle! program today.
There are several ways you can help:
- Donate books your child has outgrown and forgotten
- Host a “Read-cycle” book party with friends & family
- Host your own “Read-cycle” book drive at work or church
- Hunt for children’s books at local yard sales!
The POP Project will collect donated children’s books from Hands On and distribute them to schools, shelters, and other programs within Buncombe County and across Western North Carolina. All reading levels are greatly appreciated!
Hands On Asheville-Buncombe is a program of United Way that makes it easy to lend a hand and help others in our community. To participate in the Read-cycle! program, click here and choose the opportunity that works for you!
