POP announces a spotlighted “Book of the Month” topic throughout the month on our Facebook and Twitter feeds. Sometimes, the books are relevant to the season, like when we highlighted romance novels around Valentine’s Day in February. In most other cases, they simple highlight the wide variety of books we currently have available.
In fact, the books highlighted only make up a small proportion of books available for delivery. For instance, even though we’re currently highlighting health and wellness books, all of the rest of our inventory is also available free of charge to agencies and organizations in our community.
Help the POP Project Make an Impact
The POP Project gives free books to a variety of locations in Buncombe and surrounding counties whose clients would benefit from a greater access to books. Among our regular delivery locations are area food pantries, homeless shelters, detention centers, and low income schools.
In 2019, POP wants to deliver 10,000 books free of charge before our 10th birthday this fall! We’re calling it our “10 for 10” book giving campaign. Read more about it.
The best way to help POP meet our goal of making a huge impact is by helping us expand our reach to new locations that could use one-time or regular book deliveries. There are three good ways to do that:
- Look through our list of book types below and contact us if you work with an agency or organization that would benefit from a delivery of free books.
- Forward this link to a friend who works for a local community-driven agency or who may know another agency in need.
- Share this link to your WNC-area social media contacts. Encourage them to pass it along to contacts at agencies in need.
