  • “Paint the Town REaD” is scheduled to go on as planned on October 2nd, concurrently with the Vice President Biden’s visit to Asheville. So far, we have received no information from the city that will impact the event.
  • The POP Project will respect all security decisions made while the VP is in town. We will defer to the city authorities and Secret Service to ensure the security of downtown residents during the VP’s visit.
  • In the event that “Paint the Town REaD” is cancelled because of the vice president’s visit, you will be notified immediately.
  • In all other respects, this is a “rain or shine” event. POP will be at Vance Monument from the times listed above except in the case of extreme and dangerous weather.
  • If it looks like it will rain, bring an umbrella.
  • Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled reading time. If you are not sure of your time, email apopproject@gmail.com or contact this number: 828-216-8488.
