This Thursday marks the official kickoff of the Mountain Xpress 2019 Give Local Asheville fundraising program! All are invited to the Salvage Station for live entertainment and to meet all the participating organizations.

Give Local is kicking off THIS THURSDAY, October 24, 2018 from 5:30–8:30pm with a free community event at the Salvage Station in Asheville’s River Arts District. Enjoy a musical performance from the Asheville Choral Society. Get to know more about the POP Project and many of the other nonprofits participating this year. And come ready to bid on items in the silent auction filled with fabulous things.
Donating during the event is a great way to boost your favorite local nonprofit’s reach throughout the giving season. Plus, money raised in the silent auction will be awarded to the five nonprofits who have the most individual donors of any level by midnight on October 24. So, if you’re thinking about donating to POP, make your donation now!

HOW GIVE LOCAL WORKS
Give Local is an online fundraising initiative that lets donors like you submit your holiday donations online, all in one place, and reap rewards in the process. Donate as little as $1 to any or all of the 45 participating local nonprofits, including the POP Project. Where and how much money you give is entirely up to you.
SPECIAL INCENTIVES FOR POP DONORS: Make a $100+ donation to the POP Project, and receive 2 FREE tickets to AVL Lit Tours! Enjoy Asheville’s only multimedia tour designed intentionally for literary lovers. (Season runs April–November 2020 | $50 value)
Once you have completed your donations for the season, simply check out once through their secure online platform. After December 31, nonprofits like POP (we’re in the Arts & Literacy section) receive 100% of your donation.
But POP—and our book recipients—aren’t the only ones reaping rewards. Based on your total giving level, you too, are able to cash in—at a variety of local businesses. At the first of the year, you’ll receive a coupon book with a wide selection of offers for Asheville-based businesses, as well as any incentives specific to the nonprofits you supported.
