The POP Project is channeling the proverbial tortoise this summer: We’re moving slowly and steadily toward a finish line, being careful not to burn out after quick bursts of speed. As our finish line is making sure that everyone in Western North Carolina has access to quality books, that’s a long race to run!
Even so, we moved forward past several guideposts in recent weeks:
- We volunteered at the Ingles Independence Day Celebration in downtown Asheville.
- We placed a new Little Free Library at Verner Center for Early Learning.
- We are picking up 2 new library boxes from the Green Opportunities GO Build program this week. (Contact us if your organization is interested in hosting one.)
- Our incoming book donations are better sorted than at any point in POP history, thanks to our wonderful Homeward Books volunteers.
- We were chosen to be a nonprofit recipient for Give!Local 2017 (more info on that soon)!
We continue to move forward. One step (and book) at a time.
