Since Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina, our community has come together in some truly remarkable ways!
There were many places to direct your giving during the 2024 holiday season, and the POP Project was honored to be among them. POP’s sole mission is to get FREE books into the hands of people who need them—and we’re prepared to do that now, thanks to you.
2024 Online Fundraising Results
We’d like to send a big “thank you” to our new and recurring donors! It means a lot that you support our mission and provide the funds we need so POP could start 2025 on the right page.
THANKS TO LOCAL DONORS, POP RAISED $545 DURING OUR 2024 ONLINE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN!
In addition, we’d like to give another “big thanks!” to New Belgium Brewing Co. In 2024, POP was chosen as a beneficiary of the New Belgium Liquid Center Annual Donations Program, garnering us an additional $1,617.
That brings our total raised during the fourth quarter of 2024 (minus monthly recurring donations) to $2,162!
Where the Money Goes
POP’s total 2025 budget is set at $3,000. We are thrilled to have a generous head start on our fundraising for the year.
The POP Project is 100% privately funded. That means 100% of all cash and in-kind donations go toward our mission to collect gently used books, and sort, match, and deliver them to local agencies and touchpoints around Western North Carolina—at no cost to agencies or readers!
As our communities continue to recover, replacing lost books will become and should be important. The POP Project’s sole mission is to get FREE books into the hands of people who need them—and we’re prepared to do that as soon as locations are ready to receive them, thanks to you!
Every dollar in POP’s budget translates to roughly $10 in books delivered to schools and head start programs, nonprofit agencies, veterans’ facilities, retirement centers, food pantries, public Little Free Libraries, and detention centers in Asheville and surrounding areas—anywhere where there is a demonstration of need.
Thank you for your trust and continued support. Here’s to continuing our collective recovery efforts in 2025!
